Koblenz (35km)
Countless sights are to be explored, the "Deutsche Eck", where the river Rhine and Mosel flow together, the Basilika "St. Kastor", the "Peter Altmeier-Monument, the museum Middle Rhine, the old town, the Liebfrauen church, and so on. Opposite on the other side of the Rhine you'll view the old fortress "Ehrenbreitstein", which is also worth a visit.

Braubach (50km)
The Marksburg is the only castle on the Middle Rhine which was never destroyed. During the 50 minute guided tour you hear everything you need to know about the knight live at the Rhine.

Boppard (30km)
The castle Rheinfels is the largest castle ruin along the river Rhine. Here you'll also find the landing for Rhine shipping. "Rhine in Flames", a mind-blowing spectacular of fireworks over the river Rhine (3rd weekend of September). St. Goarshausen/Loreley(15km)
When already in St. Goar you should use the car ferry to St. Goarshausen. There you can visit the Loreley rock. The tale says that a young maiden combing her long blond hair sitting on top of the rock caused the fishers not to pay attention to their boats and the river so they ran aground on the river rocks. Another interesting sight is the castle Maus with the eagle- and hawk show 5 km down the river.

Oberwesel (18km)
ls known as the town of towers and wine, in the valley of the Loreley. Next to the Schönburg has this town also a lot of well-preserved medieval town wall in the area of the Rhine valley. Special winetastings are offered in autumn.

Pfalz bei Kaub (24km)
Ancient toll castle in the Rhine. With a ship you can get on the castle to inspect it.

Bacharach(25km)
There is an interesting walk on the battlements along the Rhine. The ruins of the Chapel of St. Werner is the symbol of Bacharach. 100 steps lead up to the chapel. Bacharach dominates with its old half-timbered houses.

Bingen(15km)
Here the River Nahe flows into the Rhine. Historic buildings are the Drususbridge (the oldest middleage bridge of Germany) and the Mousetower inside the Rhine.
